Placement in the Flava Dance Team is based on the following criteria: technique, potential, commitment level, enthusiasm, attitude, behavior in class, attendance and stage presence. To join our team students are evaluated by the instructor.

Attendance & Time Commitment

Each dancer is allowed up to 5 absences throughout the dance season. Dance requires consistent ongoing training, and students that miss many classes will not be able to perform at the same level as those that have attended regularly. For students that fall behind they may be asked not to perform at some of the events.

All team members must be at all practices the week before performances and are required to do all performances.

Deposit: A $100 deposit is required at the beginning of the season that will be returned at the end of the season. If for some reason your child leaves the team for any reason before the end of the season the $100 deposit will not be refunded and kept by Flava Dance Academy as a cancellation fee for the instructor to re-choreograph the routine.

Team Classes:

Petite Team ages 5-8 

Mondy Hip Hop 5-6pm Tuesday Salsa 5-6pm Ballet 6-7pm Wednesdays Acro 6-7pm

JR Team ages 9-13 Monday hip Hop 6-7pm, Salsa/Bachata 7-8pm Wednesday Acro 5-7pm, jazz/Contemporary 7-8pm

Tuition

Tuition is $130 per month with a one-time registration fee of $25. A $100 cancellation deposit is required and will be returned at the end of the dance session in May. All payments are due the last class of the month for the following month, or a $10 late fee will be applied. Once tuition, team gear, recital costumes or performance payments are made there are no refunds.

Team Gear

It is Mandatory that all team members have Flava Team Jackets, pants, shirts and team bags.

Performances

Parents will have a list of performances that students will be performing  in August.
