Dear Flava’ Dance Studio Families & Dancers,
Congratulations on being a part of our annual recital! We aim to make your recital
experience as enjoyable as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Please mark your calendars with the important dates and times, including studio dress
rehearsals, picture day, dress/tech rehearsals, and show days. If you have any
questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

 

Welcome to the 2026 Flava’ Dance Showcase!
 

Celebrating 25 years of Flava A story of colors and Emotions. As we prepare for the
upcoming performance, please review the following details carefully.
Our recital is scheduled for Sunday, June 7 th 2026, at 2pm. The show will feature
dances that have been rehearsed from January to May. Students are allowed to miss
up to two classes
 during this period unless otherwise approved by the director Ms.
Marissa.

Costumes:

 

Recital costume fee is $75-$150 per costume. (if your child is in more than one
type of dance parents will purchase one costume per style.)

 

*Where can you purchase your costume? Once you register for your classes we will update
your account with your costume fees. Parents have till December 10 th to purchase your child’s
costumes. Partial payments can be made monthly to pay off your costume fee by December
10 th . Payments not paid in full by December 10 th will automatically be withdrawn from your
account.

 

Once the costumes arrive, students will receive an instruction sheet detailing the hair
and makeup requirements for picture day and the show. Pictures of each class costume
and hair/makeup/tights ect. Instructions will be under the recital page under your child’s
class on our website. Please ensure that students do not wear their costume before the
event to keep them in pristine condition for the show and pictures. Please note that
costume fees are non-refundable once payment has been made. Students will
receive their recital costumes from January to February.

 

Dress Rehearsal:

 

The location for the dress rehearsal will be held at Tohopekaliga High School (3675
Boggy Creek Rd, Kissimmee, FL 34744) on Saturday, June 6 th 12am-6pm. The sign in
drop-off location will be on the door to the right of the lobby doors. We will have a sign
with ballons. Each class will have a designated time slot for their rehearsal time and will
only need to come at that time. Please ensure your child arrives with complete hair,
makeup, tights, etc., and do not be late. During dress rehearsal, only one parent or
guardian (no other children, such as siblings, grandparents, or family friends) is
permitted in the auditorium. Parents/chaperones are welcome to videotape and take
pictures. Ensure that students arrive with their hair, makeup, tights, etc., already done
and ready to perform. Upon arrival, sign in your child at the sign-in table and take a seat
in the designated parent seating area in the auditorium. Parents will supervise all
students during dress rehearsal, please make sure they are not running around. Please
make sure to bring water in a leak free bottle and snack. We will also have water and
snacks available for purchase. No juice, soda other than water at dress rehearsal.
Please sign your child out upon leaving.

PARTICIPATION*

 

Picture Day:

 

Picture Day will be held April 11 th and 12 th . The photos will take place at the Flava Dance
Academy Studio, 2880 N Orange Blossom Trail, Kissimmee, Fl 34744. Students must come
dressed in full costume with hair and makeup completed. Attendance is required for all students,
even if they are not purchasing photos. Each class will have a designated time that will be given
out in February. Photos can be picked up at the photo table during the Dress Rehearsal on
Saturday June 6th. You can purchase photos on the day of the photo shoot. Please refer to the
attached photo pricing sheet for details.

 

Videotaping:

 

This year, we encourage you to take pictures and videos during the recital. However, please
refrain from using flash photography or additional lighting while capturing photos or videos.

 

Recital Fee:

 

Organizing a recital involves various costs, including venue rental for two days, staff payments,
teacher appreciation gifts, and student awards. To help cover these expenses, there is a $100
participation fee per student. This fee is due by January 17 th and will be taken out electronically
from your account.

 

Tickets:

 

Tickets will be available for purchase starting April 1st on our website. To purchase tickets
please go to our website at flavadanceacademy.com click on recital info and click on purchase
tickets. Pre-sale tickets are $25 each for adults (ages 13 and up) and $20 for children 12 and
under. Children aged 2 and under are admitted free of charge but must sit on a parent’s lap.
Pre-sale ends on April 30th. After April 30th, ticket prices will increase to $28 for adults and $25
for children. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the show at the same rates.

The ticket table in the school lobby will open at 5 pm on the day of the show. Please note that
all ticket purchases are non-refundable, and lost tickets cannot be replaced. For safety
reasons, strollers are not allowed in the auditorium. Seating is not assigned, so we
recommend arriving early to choose your seats.

 

Performance Day:

 

Students 6 years old and up should be dropped off at the recital venue no later than 12pm.
Students 3-5 years old can be dropped off at 1:40pm. Please ensure they arrive with hair,
makeup, tights, and costumes fully prepared and ready to perform. Upon arrival, one parent or
guardian must sign in the student for the show. Theater Doors will open at 1:40 pm, and the
performance will begin at 2:00 pm.

 

Students in Multiple Dances:

 

Students that are in more than one dance and cannot change themselves on their own will need
a chaperone with them in the back. If a student is in only two dances and one dance is in the
first half of the show and the second dance is in the second half of the show the chaperone can
come during intermission to change their child. We will need the name of the chaperone to give
them a backstage pass.

 

Students in multiple dances will need to bring two collapsible laundry baskets. All costumes will
be organized in zip log bags in order from last dance to first dance in one basket. After each
dance is completed, students will put their costume in the second laundry basket that is empty.
The student then takes out their next costume in the basket that has the costumes in order. This
will keep their space clean and organized. Each student that is in multiple dances will have a
sheet taped on the wall above their laundry baskets with the pictures of each of their dances in
order. All students that are in more than one dance will need to purchase a skin color leotard to
put under their costumes. This allows them to change in the room with all the students and feel
comfortable since they will still be dressed.

*Only Flava’ staff and approved volunteers are permitted backstage*

 

During the show, each class will perform onstage and then return to the dressing room. All
dancers must remain backstage for the duration of the show and keep their costumes on
for the finale/bow at the end except for the tiny tots ages 3-5. The Tiny tots will go with
their parents at intermission. After the finale, performers will be escorted to the dressing room
to collect their belongings and then line up for dismissal. Students can be picked up students at
the same location they were dropped off. After your child is picked up please come back to the
lobby to take pictures at our photo booth and 360 photo booth for FREE

 

Parent Volunteers:

 

We are looking for parent Volunteers to help backstage during the recital. Your
support is incredibly important in making the event run smoothly and ensuring
the dancers are safe, organized, and ready for their performances. If you are
available to help, we would greatly appreciate it. Please message Ms. Marissa if
you would like to volunteer.

 

T-shirts:

 

25 years of Flava, Dance Mom, Dance Dad, Dance Grandma and Grandpa T-shirts
for sale all year long. Go to our website and click on the merchandise
On Sale for $25

 

Intermission:

 

We will have a 15-minute intermission where we will have snacks and drinks for
$2 each. Before the show we will also be pre-selling tickets for the concession so
you can just grab your snack or drink and not wait to make the payment.

 

Flowers For Sale:

 

We will be selling flowers at the recital. 1 rose $3 or 3 roses for $5. Parents can
Pre purchase flowers on your parent portal, from April to May or purchase at the
recital.

 

What to Pack for the Show:

 

  • Costumes: Ensure you have all pieces, including hair accessories, gloves, etc.

  • Tights: Students should wear one pair and have at least one extra pair of each

  • color in their dance bag.

  • Dance Shoes: Bring the appropriate shoes for each dance style (Ballet, Jazz,

  • Hip Hop, Salsa, Bachata).

  • Label Everything: Clearly label costumes, shoes, tights, bags, etc.

  • Leak proof water bottle

  • Healthy snacks

  • If your child is in multiple dances, please bring two small laundry baskets

to organize costumes.

 

Important: Please leave all jewelry, electronics (iPods, phones, gaming devices, etc.),
and valuables at home. Flava’ Dance is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

 

Backstage Info: There are restrooms backstage for the students to use and there
will be water provided. Please make sure the kids eat a nice, good meal before
arriving to the venue as they will be there a couple hours.
